Newton, Ma. : For the 2017-2018 season, the Valeo girls program signs two new coaches to their program, Shelby Sprague and Allan Parrelli.

Allan brings a significant amount of soccer experience to the forefront of the Valeo FC girls organization. Allan has spent his last two years coaching for GPS Elite, heading the GU13 squad and the GU12 squads. He has brought a high level of developmental progression to his prior players from both the technical and tactical sides of the game.

As a player, Allan was a stand-out high school player at Reading Memorial High School where he was selected to the All-New England Player as well as earning All-State honors. Allan was tabbed to Eastern-Massachusetts All-Star team as well as being named to the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic squad. As a high school senior Allan was named MVP of the Middlesex Conference where he accumulated 45 points and scored 20 goals a senior.

In college, Allan played for the Emmanuel Saints. Allan had one of the most productive offensive seasons in program history where he scored 11 goals and rallied 26 points as a striker in a single season. Allan finished his sophomore season ranked amongst top five in the Great North Atlantic Conference for goals scored and points tallied. Allan has also received GNAC player of the week accolades as well as being named to the GNAC All-Conference team during his tenure with the Saints.

Shelby Sprague also comes to Valeo with significant success in the game of soccer as a standout high school and college player. Shelby spent her first two collegiate seasons at the power house of Massasoit Community College Warriors which competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Shelby “hit the ground running” as a freshman for the Warriors where she tallied 25 goals in 16 games and raked in a total of 54 points in 16 games as a freshmen. As part of her goal scoring efforts, Shelby recorded 4 hat tricks in her first season with the Warriors. Finalizing her first year as a collegiate soccer player, Shelby was recognized to the All-American team of NJCAA.

In her sophomore year competing for the Warriors, Shelby did not slow down on her point totaling and scoring efforts. Shelby finished her sophomore season with 30 goals scored and 6 assists totaling 66 points for the year. She finished her sophomore season as #3 highest scoring player in the nation, she was tabbed to the All-Region first team, NSCAA weekly and national accolades as well as to the All-America team.

Allan and Shelby both join Valeo FC with  USSF coaching licenses and are excited to be a part of the Valeo staff and the structured curriculum at Valeo FC. Both coaches bring a high level of passion to the game and are focused on their continued growth of being well recognized developmental coaches at Valeo FC.
